DEAN GOLAN OF HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL VISITS TO HARKAT NEGERI UNIVERSITY

Overall, the visit and collaborative activities became an important first step in strengthening the partnership between Universitas Harkat Negeri, Harvard Medical School, and the Primary Health Impact Lab (PHIL) initiative in supporting the development of primary healthcare research and innovation. The activities not only provided a space for academic discussion and knowledge sharing, but also reflected a shared commitment to improving people-centered healthcare services through research, education, and community collaboration.

As a follow-up to this collaboration, several short-term research projects involving faculty members and students will be conducted from May to September 2026. These research activities are expected to become an initial step toward the development of broader long-term collaborative research initiatives under PHIL. Through active involvement in research and field-based learning, students and lecturers will have opportunities to strengthen their research capacity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical understanding of primary healthcare challenges.

Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the programs and research initiatives developed under PHIL will contribute meaningful impact to healthcare services in Tegal and surrounding areas. In addition, this partnership is also expected to support the improvement of research capacity and academic development among students and lecturers at Universitas Harkat Negeri.
